Is it better than the original?
Designer TheSketchMonkey has returned with another vehicle that he’s modernizing for 2019. He is currently working on the Chrysler Crossfire, giving it a cleaner, more prominent look. Let’s begin with some history.
The Crossfire was Chrysler’s entry into the niche sports car segment. It was manufactured by Karmann in Germany from 2004 to 2008. The Crossfire is actually based on the first-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK, as both were created during the merger of Daimler with the American company. There were many modifications to the model during its lifecycle. These included the Crossfire Roadster and Crossfire SRT-6. In total, 76,014 models were sold during the model’s four-year lifespan.
Modernized:
Today’s video shows that the overall shape and proportions are unchanged for the two-door coupe, but the designer adds new touches such as the larger front fender grils and slim vertical taillights. These replace the original D-shaped units. He also adds slightly larger wheels, pop out door handles, and a new rear diffuser to the car. It is important to remember that TheSketchMonkey focuses on the rear of the car, and is not yet detailing the front.
The Photoshop guru has created modernized versions Ferrari Daytona and Jaguar E-Type as well as the 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The Lamborghini Countach, and the Chevrolet Camaro were just a few of his many notable projects. Is the refreshed Crossfire appealing to you? Comment below to let us know your thoughts.
