The Grand Caravan nameplate is still in use.
The Dodge Grand Caravan was no more, even though it was America’s most popular minivan in 2019. It also brought 1,500 jobs to the Windsor assembly plant in Ontario. The plant became a two-shift operation by June.
Mike Szymkiewicz is the senior manager of product strategy for FCA Canada. He says that the Grand Caravan nameplate was chosen because it has a wider recognition in Canada. Dodge, on the other hand can focus on being a performance-oriented brand with no minivans in its lineup.According to reports, the Chrysler Grand Caravan will come in two trims. The base trim will cost $37,995 with a 3.6-liter V6 engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The SXT trim will start at $39,995.
Although an exact date has not been announced, the Chrysler Grand Caravan is expected to roll out from the Windsor Assembly plant of FCA this summer. According to the Automotive News Canada report, this will not bring back more jobs at the plant.
