A supercar from America sets a new speed record at the most American track.
Czinger continues to promote the production-spec 21C Supercar. The American manufacturer, after setting a record at the WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway (California) in August, visited the Circuit of the Americas to set another record. The 21C was driven by Joel Miller, who set a lap time of 2:1:33, surpassing the previous record of 2:07:12 minutes.
Czinger is particularly proud that the record was set with a fully produced example of the supercar with all of the necessary features for street legal use. The machine in the video above had full interior and lighting. It was also running on Michelin Pilot Cup 2R street tire tires. You can buy the exact same car now and have it delivered in 2023.
“Czinger Vehicles” is an American company. This company designs and manufactures automobiles in California. We are the owners of all IP. America is the owner of all IP. However, we represent American values and the spirit that encourages inclusion and opportunity. “Our team has come all over America and around the world to join our efforts,” Lukas Czinger (VP of Operations at Czinger) said.
The Czinger 21C used the twin-turbo 2.88-liter flat plane crank V8 to achieve a lap speed of more than five seconds faster that the McLaren P1 at the Circuit of the Americas. Two electric motors are used to power the engine, one for each wheel. This gives the American supercar all-wheel drive capability and a maximum output of 1,250 horsepower (932 Kilowatts).
This number may not seem shocking in an age of Bugatti and Koenigsegg hypercars. However, it is more than acceptable when you consider that the car weighs just 2,734 pounds (1.240 kg). Czinger will only produce 80 copies of the 21C supercar. A even more powerful version of the 21C supercar is in development.
