It will only be sold in certain markets as an EV.
If you haven’t heard, wagons and sedans are losing popularity. Minivan sales are being negatively affected by the rise in crossovers. Automakers are looking beyond the traditional body styles as they see a decline in demand. This Citroen C4 X is a great example. Although it is difficult to identify its body style, the double chevron indicates that it is a unique alternative to SUVs and hatchbacks.
The C4 X is Citroen’s version of the Peugeot 408, which was introduced earlier in the month. It measures 4,600 millimeters (181.1 in) in length and is therefore placed between the C4 X and the C5 X in terms overall length. It is 1,800mm (70.8 in), wide, and 1,525mm (60 cm) tall.
This makes it slightly smaller and taller than the model with the lion badge. It has a lower cargo volume of 510 liters (18 cubes) as opposed to the Peugeot’s 536 Liters (19 cubic feet). Its somewhat swoopy design allows it to have a low drag coefficient of 0.29, which helps achieve higher efficiency.
Citroen will only sell the fastback on stilts in major European markets like Germany, France and Italy. The e-C4 X’s 50-kWh battery packs can last for 224 miles (360 km) using the WLTP cycle. You can charge it to 80 percent in just half an hour with 100 kW DC.
A single electric motor produces 136 horsepower (100kilowatts) as well as 260 Newton-meters (191 pounds-feet). The Citroen e-C4 X can sprint at a speed of 0 to 62 mph (102.5 km/h), before reaching a top speed of 93 mph (151.5 km/h).
The model will be available in certain markets with both gasoline and diesel engines. All versions of the model will be made in Spain at Stellantis’ Madrid plant.
