You’ll need to be a fool.
Seetroen is not just the sound of car manufacturer Citroen speaking in an unnatural Italian accent. It is also the name for a new innovation from that carmaker.
It’s a pair glasses. But Citroen doesn’t want to be like Specsavers. The French brand wants to fight chronic travel sickness which is affecting more than 30,000,000 people across Europe.
The glasses were created by 5.5, a collective studio based in Paris that mimics the styling of Citroen cars. Boarding Ring, a start-up located in Var in south France, developed the technology for the glasses. Boarding Ring technology, a paramedical solution, is patentable and has a remarkable effectiveness rating of 95%.
Citroen recommends that glasses be worn as soon as motion sickness symptoms are present. After 10 to 12 minutes, the glasses will “allow the mind to resynchronize itself with the inner ear’s movement while the eyes focus on an immobile object, such as a book or smartphone.” The glasses can then be removed for the rest of the journey.
They can be worn over prescription glasses because they don’t have lenses. You can also share them if you experience car sickness symptoms with more than one person. They can only be worn by children and adults over ten years of age, since the inner ear is no longer growing.
The Seetroen glasses can now be ordered from the U.K. via the Citroen Lifestyle Boutique for EUR99 (approximately £113 at current exchange rates).
