The production version of the concept model is available.
Only 50 Citroen MyAmi Buggy Concepts will be produced starting in December 2021. These vehicles will be sold exclusively online by the French brand, starting June 21.
My Ami Buggy’s production version features a dark-colored body and a few bright yellow accents. It also has bronze-colored steel wheels with black centers. This variant features tubular doors, instead of the open sides of the original concept. The dark gray roof features a canvas section which owners can remove and store behind the seats.
This version is more rugged than the standard Ami thanks to reinforced front and rear bumpers, black trim around the wheel arches, and side sills, and a stronger appearance. Attached to the rear roof is a spoiler.
The interior seats are black with yellow stitching. The yellow color is used for the storage spots on the dashboard. The plaque on this model displays “My Ami Buggy Ultra Special Limited Edition”, and the number of units produced.
The My Ami Buggy Concept (gallery below) featured several rugged parts that were not included in the production model. The cover was for the headlights, tubular brush bar, all-terrain tires, and the roof. The show car also included a set of custom luggage
The base price of the Citroen My Ami Buggy is EUR9,790. They will be delivered to the homes of 50 people who purchase them on August 8.
The ami is powered by an 8 horsepower (6 kilowatts) electric motor and a 5.5-kilowatt hour battery pack. It can travel at a speed of just 28 miles an hour (45 km per hour). The range is up to 43.5 mi (70 km). Because of its low speed, anyone as young as 14 years old in France can legally drive this little EV.
Citroen also offers , a cargo-carrying variant of the Ami. The Opel Rocks E is a similar vehicle, but with a different badge. Fiat is also rumored to be getting a version.
