We now have photos and details from the Citroen Survolt all electric concept, which will be shown in Geneva.
The Survolt is Citroen’s latest concept vehicle. It features an unusual design that aims to showcase an all-electric performance vehicle with a luxurious and fashionable package. Today, the Geneva Motor Show unveiled the new concept.
The two-seater’s performance specs have not been revealed by the French automaker, although it does claim that the car packs a “motor racing punch.” The car’s all electric drivetrain is not known, but it is believed to be an evolution from the Citroen Revolte concept that was presented last year in Frankfurt. The Revolte hybrid model can run both as an all-electric and small internal combustion engine.
It is therefore difficult to understand why engineers would use honeycomb grilles so heavily. The roof-mounted intake of air seems to have little use, although again, not many details were disclosed.
According to a press release, the design was intended to convey an aerodynamic appearance that combined “flowing lines [that] convey agility precision and vitality – with a powerful and muscular character contained within its refined and luxurious framework.” The supermini measures 3.85 meters long by 1.87 meters wide. This makes it 65mm longer than the Lotus Exige S and 150mm wider than that of the Lotus Exige S. It is shorter at 1.2 meters high than the Audi TT, but taller than the Exige.
The exterior touches for the yellow, charcoal and fuchsia cars include an LED lighting at the front and an awkward oval-shaped grille. A rear spoiler and rear lighting are the same as the Revolte. The long windshield creates the illusion of more space inside.
