Concept Volkswagen Beetle Convertible heading to Beijing

This concept will be based upon the E-Bugster concept (pictured), which was first presented to the world in January at the Detroit Show. However, the roof of the updated version will be removed.

Volkswagen will be heading to Beijing with a new concept to show off their Beetle Convertible, which will launch in the first quarter of next year. spy photos last year gave us a closer look.

This concept will be based upon the E-Bugster concept (pictured), which was first displayed at the Detroit Show in January. However, the roof of the updated version will be removed.

We expect the Convertible to have the same engine options that its coupe sibling when it reaches full production. There will be a 2.5-liter until, as well as a TFSI 2.0-liter and a TDI 2.0 diesel engines. You can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission or a dual clutch system.
