The final cut was made by trucks such as the Ford F-150 and cars like the Toyota Corolla.

While judges continue to debate awards such as World Car of the Year and Consumer Reports continues to present its own honors, the Top Picks of 2018. These 10 vehicles were awarded for their performance, reliability, safety testing, and satisfaction.

Every car on this list has been subject to a stringent testing and evaluation at the Consumer Reports Automobile Test Center. Each vehicle was subject to at least 50 evaluations. It used the experience of owners to rate satisfaction and its expertise to predict reliability. These ten vehicles made it to the final round.

There are some exceptions to the rule, however. The Chevrolet Bolt trumped all other compact green cars, including the Toyota Prius, and the Nissan Leaf. Consumer Reports deemed this to be the best in all areas. Another interesting option is the older Toyota Sienna, especially considering the newer minivans such as the Chrysler Pacifica or the Honda Odyssey. The Audi A4 won the top spot for luxury cars in a highly competitive segment. The BMW X3 came in second place for compact SUVs.
