Cool renderings give a new look to the third-generation Chevy Camaro

The 1980s Camaro look is still very much loved.

However, the Chevrolet Camaro’s future looks uncertain. A new rendering by The Sketch Monkey shows what could happen if the Bowtie designers took a radical turn and made the next generation look just like the previous model. While the final design retains many of the key elements, the model’s headlights and grille are modernized.

Camaro is in trouble

Sketch Monkey states that this rendering combines a modernization and a complete redesign of the third-gen Camaro. He changes the lines of the car to be more angular, and gets rid some of the outdated elements like the large turn signals at the front fascia.

The third-gen Camaro lacks a body-color panel between its headlights, which is a departure from one of its signature styling cues. Sketch Monkey’s design makes the car look somewhat like the Chevy Monte Carlo SSS of the 1980s.

Recent spy shots (above), suggest that Chevy may have plans for the third-gen Camaro, at least in the near future. People who saw the odd vehicle said that it had a roll cage and that it sounded as if it had a six-speed manual, something Chevy never offered at the factory. A GM Performance Parts badge was found on the car’s lower front fender, and the rear bumper. This indicated that the division was working on new components for the model.

According to current speculation, Chevy will cease production of the Camaro after 2023. Later, the company could revive this nameplate as an EV sporty version. The electric Camaro will not arrive in the same timeframe as the current version’s retirement if this happens.
