Production of Z06 begins in the summer.
The Chevy Corvette Z06 that we will receive in the US is not the Z06 that we see elsewhere. Extra exhaust piping is required in Europe and Australia due to strict emission regulations. It’s difficult to fit floating quad-exit tailpipes from the Z06 onto these models because of this.
These Z06s will instead be sold in Europe and Australia, equipped with corner-exit exhausts. Why? Chevy It was necessary to install gasoline particulate filter, and the exhaust system wouldn’t fit with a central-exit design. It didn’t work. This is a shame because Chevy engineers spent two decades fine-tuning the packaging to achieve the perfect sound.
CorvetteBlogger.com noticed that pre-production Z06s had the corner-exit system. It pressed Chevy about it. Chevy plans to install filters on all cars, except those headed to North America and the Middle East, according to CorvetteBlogger.com .
This filter can also reduce Chevy’s naturally aspirated V8 engine of 5.5-liters. It produces 670 horsepower (623 Newton-meters) and 460 pounds-feet (623 kilowatts). CorvetteBlogger.com performed some calculations and found that the filters decreased horsepower by two-to four percent in the 495-hp (364 kW) Corvette Stingray. Similar results could be seen with the Z06.
Chevy’s Z06 was introduced last October. However, we are still months away from production beginning. This should start later in the year. Chevy has not yet released pricing information, but we anticipate it will start at $90,000.
There are many improvements to the car beyond a stronger powertrain. The two-door can travel 60 miles per hour (100 km per hour) in just 2.6 seconds. It needed extra cooling because of the extra power. The car has a new look. The Z06 received a wider stance and huge 20- and 21 inch wheels. It also had a tuned suspension.
The Z06 is one of many Corvette variants that will see this iconic model propelled into the future using new technology. The hybrid will be all-wheel-drive, and the electric version will be fully electric. The hybrid could be available before the end next year.
