You can also fit a snowmobile in there.

There are many benefits to customizing your camper. It’s possible to create your own solutions for on-the-go issues, without having to rely upon a manufacturer. Mike Basich, a pro snowboarder and enthusiast for off-the grid living, was able to build something completely unique to suit his needs. He started with a Mitsubishi Fuso chassis, before venturing out. This is not your average home-away from-home.

Basich can customize almost every part of his camper. Basich can protect the metal exterior from rusting, but he can cover it with any waterproof material. The top has solar panels, while the back has a Tommy Gate that can lift a piano or Basich’s snowmobile. A deck and an awning can be found on the side of the camper, opening it to the outdoors. It’s akin to a taco truck.

It includes a water heater and a two-person bed, a dinette table, TV, single basin sink, stove, furnace, as well as fridge. It does not have a shower but has a bathtub. Basich can bathe in the bathtub located underneath the floor near the large side opening. A wood stove swings out and provides heat that does not depend on electricity or propane. A propane heater can be fitted with a thermostat. You will find soft-closing drawers in the kitchen, heated floors (though they are not connected up), and additional storage under the floor.

To expand indoor living space, the kitchen, located opposite the large side opening, opens out. Basich used plexiglass instead of a traditional wooden ceiling for the extended area. This allows for tons of natural light to flood the interior. It’s waterproof, too. It also has a 42-gallon water tank to prevent it freezing.

Basich listed the prices for many of the materials he used in building his camper, and none of them seemed unreasonablely high. It is true that it can be built with your own hands, but this helps to keep costs down. This is also a great example of what you can do when you put your mind and effort into a project. Basich advises that you make it easy to use if you are going to build it.
