The hybrid beast that was born in California is headed to Geneva.
While many automakers will skip the Geneva Motor Show this year, we still look forward to seeing what’s new. Czinger Vehicles Inc. is launching a new high performance machine, the 21C. This will allow it to make its mark on the hypercar market. Today’s episode of the teaser commercial features new imagery and a second episode.
Czinger, pronounced “zinger”, with a silent C, has released some details about the mysterious model it developed and was built in Los Angeles. The 21C will boast a jaw-dropping 1,233 horsepower combined powertrain. This will provide enough power to propel the 21C from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h), in just 1.9 seconds. Few other cars can boast this kind of acceleration. Relevant examples include the second generation Tesla Roadster (0-60 MPH in 1.9 seconds), Rimac C_Two (0-60 MPH in 1.85 seconds) and the Aspark Owl (0-60 MPH in 1.69 seconds). Automobili Pininfarina claims that its Battista can do 0-62 mph within two seconds. The 21C will still have a combustion engine, while all other cars are entirely electric. This is similar to the Lotus Evija.
Czinger C21’s world debut will be at the Geneva Motor Show, March 3. We’ll learn everything we can about the sleek hypercar featuring tandem seating and an aggressive aero. The hybrid performance beast is shown below in this video that was shot at San Francisco’s Alameda Naval Base. The video only allows us to hear the four-digit sound effects of the hybrid powertrain, but it leaves us wanting more.
