Dacia Dokker, First Time Spied, Already Looks Familiar

2020 will see the introduction of a new generation LCV from Romania.

We shared the first spy photos of the prototype for the next-generation Renault Kangoo last month. Some readers pointed out that the test vehicle looked very similar to the Dacia Dokker from Romania. These spy photos prove that the two cars will share a nearly identical body in their next iterations.

This is a Dokker trial vehicle with full-body costume. We can see that the car has a lot of similarities to the Dokker trial car despite the disguise. Kangoo Prototype from June. This is especially evident at the rear, where the only thing that appears to distinguish the two vehicles are the taillights. The overall body shape, as well as the dimensions and forms of the side mirrors, appear identical.

But not all models are the same. The photo shows that the prototype had four lug nuts, while the Kangoo used a five-bolt configuration. We don’t know what these differences are, but it is likely that there are differences beneath the skin.

We know that this prototype is powered by an internal combustion engine. The Kangoo test car did not have an visible exhaust pipe. This camouflaged Dokker does.

The Dokker will still be available with a 1.5-liter diesel engine, in various outputs, when it launches on the market in 2020. It is not clear if Renault will offer an all-electric powertrain, but it seems unlikely given the model’s low price.
