Dacia Duster Gets 1.3 Liter Gasoline Engine Up To 150 HP

A new infotainment system is available for the Dacia range, including support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Dacia has updated its engine range for its affordable SUV, adding a 1.3-liter TCe engine with a gasoline particulate filter. This follows the introduction of more powerful Blue dCi diesel engine earlier in the year. The four-cylinder engine is already available on several Renault, Nissan and Mercedes models. It will be available in two tunings: 130 horsepower (96kilowatts) or 240 Newton-meters (175 pound-feet) respectively. A stronger configuration, with 150 hp (101.5 kW) and 250 Nm (1184 lb-ft), will be offered in Duster. The Duster is now the most powerful production Dacia model ever.

For now, the 1.3-liter TCE can only send power to the front wheels. But wait until next year to order this engine in a Duster with a 4×4 system. Dacia will soon begin accepting orders for the 4×2 Duster if you feel that life is too short.

The entire Dacia range will be getting a technological update with the introduction of the Media Nav Evolution system. This is scheduled to happen by the end 2018. The updated infotainment system integrates Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as support for Waze, Whatsapp and Spotify. It is also faster and easier to use, as well as offering more features than ever before. The new system will be the same price as the Media Nav setup and you’ll be pleased to know that the Romanian automaker won’t charge extra for it.
