Even this terrible video makes the Devel Sixty seem formidable.
The Devel Sixty is an amazing vehicle to admire. You don’t even look at it, but you do. It’s like a tank on wheels that is ready to smash down Thanos’ door on a Thursday morning. It looks almost cartoonish, and it sounds amazing until you hear the turbochargers spinning up and see black smoke coming out of its exhaust stacks. It’s almost like Hell has entered Earth.
This video shows it racing a Bentley Flying Spur and crushing it off of the line. Although it doesn’t seem like either car is speeding at its maximum, this video is a great example of how powerful the Devel Sixty can be on the road. It is almost as large as the Flying Spur, which is smaller and more compact.
The Devel Sixty is powered by a 6.75-liter V8 turbodiesel. It produces 720 horsepower and 1,000 Newton meters (738 pound-feet). It’s not clear if this is the base or the top-of-the-line model, which has 1,500 horsepower. Both models are absurd. The vehicle comes with massive 40-inch tires and a starting price $450,000. That’s not cheap. A full carbon fiber body is also available, but this could prove costly. Although the body will help to save weight, the Devel Sixty won’t be able fight in the featherweight category.
It is amazing to see the Devel Sixty next other cars. It’s absurd, it looks like it’s from a child’s nightmare. Yet, we love it. Its absurdity is what makes it so amazing. It’s the only thing like it, and that’s a shame. We would love to see a worthy opponent challenge the Sixty. Perhaps they could put them through some end-of the-world scenarios. It would be an interesting battle, and one that we might even pay for.
