What are your budget limits for a knockoff product?
Many Lamborghini copies are available online. Given the asking price of its real cars, it is understandable. We once saw an Aventador that was built on top a Honda Accord coupe. It was amazing… or not. We figured it was a fake. However, the hard work that went into its creation was immense.
Craigslist has a lot of interesting options. We saw a Aventador Roadster a few months back that was previously a Pontiac GTO. However, it was a complete disaster because of its size.
Canadian Craigslist now has its own contender for the best Lamborghini copy, but this time it’s the legendary Diablo, the supercar that ruled the 1990s and was the first Lamborghini to reach speeds exceeding 200 mph (320 km/h).
Although the knockoff version on sale here may not have the same performance claims, the exterior of the Diablo made us uncomfortable. The similarities are uncanny, at least in photographs. I won’t get ahead of myself.
The Diablo knockoff, as with most replicas, is a mix of parts from various cars. It would make Dr. Frankenstein smile. Although the brands were not named, the advertisement stated that the brakes were from Chevy corvette and the 300-horsepower V8 motor it powered. The transmission was a Porsche G50 five speed manual transmission from the 910.
If you are interested in these cars, the Diablo replica is very tempting. However, the seller asks for CAD 79.999 (around $60,000.800). Although the advertisement clearly states that the car is a replica, 60 grand is still a lot for a knockoff.
That’s all we have to say. The car is still available for sale if you are interested. Send an inquiry to the seller. However, he won’t accept low-ball offers.
