Disney is the master of magic.
Disney uses some crazy technology to make its theme parks magical. With its new stunt robotics, the company continues to push the boundaries. But not all magic requires a high-tech solution. Sometimes all a company needs to sell illusions is a box truck and false veneer. Bioreconstruct’s Twitter photos show behind-the scenes of Disney’s operations. They show how Disney shuttles guests between its new hotels. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Hotel and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge theme park. Disney uses a basic box truck with some modifications. The truck has large doors on both sides for passengers who board the Halcyon ship to “land” at Batuu’s open-air spaceport.
Although the entire set-up looks very simple from the outside, it is likely to look like a Star Wars transport within. This arrangement allows guests to immerse themselves in Star Wars without having to look outside the attraction. Before landing in Batuu from the ship, guests board the enclosed structure that is attached to the ship. It has fabric and conduits hanging above the landing area.
Disney’s incredible quality in building its theme parks world-building doesn’t mean you can’t see behind the curtain. While much of Disney appears like this from outside, guests are not allowed to see it. Disney is known for its efforts to keep guests in its bubble. It has also done a lot to preserve the Star Wars illusion, which has included food and rides.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, a two-night immersive hotel experience that allows guests to do more than just eat at the all-you can-eat buffet.
