DocGo’s Ford E-Transit Ambulance is The First Of Its Type In The USA

The company is aiming to create an all-electric fleet with zero emissions.

A new electric vehicle is available in the US. It’s not something you would want to use unless it was an emergency. DocGo, the leading provider of integrated medical mobility solutions and last-mile mobile healthcare services in the US has revealed its all-electric ambulance.

DocGo claims that DocGo’s zero-emissions ambulance was the first to be registered in the nation. This ambulance is more environmentally friendly than an ICE-powered one. Additionally, it has a lower fuel cost, which could help reduce patient transport costs. DocGo’s first step towards its latest sustainability goal to have an all electric fleet by 2032 is this.

Stan Vashovsky, DocGo CEO, said that the company is relentless in its quest to improve how care is delivered. DocGo’s ‘Zero emission’ Initiative is a great example of how DocGo revolutionizes mobile medical care delivery and builds a company that is better for patients, care providers, and the environment.

DocGo’s electric ambulance is built on the Ford E-Transit, which was first revealed in 2020. The Blue Oval electric van’s low-roof, nonambulance variant has a range of 126 miles (203 km). It was not announced in its release.

DocGo collaborated with Lightning eMotors in the creation of the all-electric ambulance. The Colorado-based company provides specialized and sustainable fleet solutions since 2009, deploying complete zero-emission-vehicle solutions for commercial fleets since 2018.

“We are humbled to have been able to work alongside DocGo in this exciting initiative,” Nicholas Bettis, director marketing and sales operations at Lightning eMotors.

DocGo will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony in New York with a hospital partner to celebrate the first patient who has been transported by an all-electric ambulance. Details of the event are still to be announced.
