Dodge Hellcat Owners Own On Average At Most Three More Cars
They will probably be able to afford it.

Dodge officially Hellcatted the Hellcat V8 with 707 horsepower in the Challenger. The supercharged engine is available in every Dodge vehicle, but the automaker also dropped the Journey and Grand Caravan. There are only three Dodges left, which is odd considering that the average Hellcat owner owns at least three. Coincidence? It’s almost certain.

This fascinating tidbit comes from Muscle cars & Trucks. It received Hellcat owners statistics directly from Dodge. According to the report, the average American customer of a new vehicle has 2.8 cars. However, it is not clear whether that number applies to households or individuals. According to Dodge, that number rises to 3.8 when a Hellcat is added. This means that most buyers don’t have to give up on the opportunity to own the V8.

It makes perfect sense. Although Hellcat-powered Chargers and Challengers can be used as daily drivers, the 700-plus horsepower underfoot makes them quite thirsty. Many of these cars get at least an exhaust upgrade. Even hardcore muscle enthusiasts enjoy a quiet commute once in a while. It is possible to have a Hellcat as an occasional car, with at least one pickup truck and an SUV in your garage. Buyers will likely have enough money to buy additional Hellcat-powered Chargers or Challengers, which easily run over $70,000.

It will be interesting for the stats to change now that Dodge offers a Hellcat powered Durango. It’s the most practical SUV, with three rows of seats, 710 horsepower, and we find it hard to believe that buyers will consider this an expensive car.

The Durango may not be able to sell enough units due to ‘s high price and six-month production window.
