Let your kids have fun with the Challenger, and they might be able to buy one in 20 years.
The most recent lineup of Lego Speed Champions Kits include a set of modern packaging. Dodge Challenger SRT Demon A classic 1970 Charger R/T The hood has a large supercharger. Dodge has created a new commercial to promote the new models and their real-world counterparts. It shows a child playing with the toy model while pretending to drive the full-size Demon. Leah Pritchett, NHRA drag racing champion, is the woman driving the ad.
Dodge is open to admitting that an ad like the one above and the collaboration with Lego to create the new kit are great ways to get kids interested in the brand and may lead to sales someday. In the announcement by the automaker, Steve Beahm, Head, Passenger Car Brands, Dodge//SRT and Chrysler at FCA North America stated that “We know that many Dodge//SRT fans become enthusiasts at an early age and also grow up creating Lego vehicles that they dream of one day driving on to the road.”
The Lego Speed Champions set focuses on drag racing. You can play with the kit’s start light and race marshal, who carries a checkered Flag. Kids can pretend that the retro-modded Charger or the modern Challenger wins the quarter mile. Each car comes with a driver. The regular hood is available without the supercharger if the parent or the child prefers a Charger with a more traditional look. An alternate set of wheels is also available for the Challenger. Sets of four are available for $29.99
The most recent batch of Speed Champions release kits (gallery above), include a McLaren Senna and Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. A set that includes a 1967 Mini Cooper S rally vehicle and a modern Mini offroad buggy from events such as the Dakar Rally is also available.
