This matchup is more amazing than you might think.
These numbers are obvious: 1,100 horsepower vs 310 horsepower. We hate to disappoint you, but we know you may think that one output is better than the other.
Today’s drag racing matchup is between a supercar or a superbike. These are not ordinary superlatives.
JM Imports took the Lamborghini Huracan through their hands. They added two huge turbochargers to the supercar’s powertrain, increasing the output of the 5.2-liter V10.
The result is 1,100 horsepower (820 Kilowatts) with 738 pound-feet (1,100 Newton-meters), of torque sent to all four corners. The turbocharged Huracan is a four-wheeled vehicle with a power-to weight ratio of 759 horsepower per ton, which is quite impressive.
However, the Kawasaki H2R is even better. The Japanese superbike produces 310 horsepower (231 kW) with 122 lb-ft (165 Nm). This bike is more powerful than the Honda Civic TypeR in terms of output.
The 294-kilogram-weight of the bike and rider makes the total output an astonishing 1,054 horsepower/tonne.
It’s difficult to predict who will win this matchup. Although it is easy to see that the Huracan was in a disadvantage, we must also consider the riding skills of the riders given the huge power surge sent to the rear wheels. This video shows that it wasn’t an issue.
Which one won the straight-line race, and which did not? The H2R did a wheelie all along the way. To find out, watch the video at the top of this page.
