Dramatic Car Crash: Box Truck in Flames After Box Truck Falls, Driver Goes Away

All of the injuries sustained were not life-threatening.

On Monday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation captured a spectacular car accident on video. A car and a box truck collided along the highway. It is breathtaking to see the video, which captures the accident and its fiery aftermath. This dramatic video shows how fast a car accident can turn deadly. Thankfully, nobody was killed in this video. The car travels at a high speed and overtakes the highway entrance ramp. The car crosses the grass media that separates the ramp from the highway and pulls in front of a yellow box truck. This t-bones it, sending the four-door sedan spinning, and the box truck careening into the wall.

As the box truck crashes into concrete, its hood is torn off and the truck bursts into flames. The truck stops at the ramp, blocking it with thick black smoke rising from the air and a flame underneath. Amazingly, as the flames grow and thicken, the truck stops blocking the entrance ramp. The doors then open and the passengers are free. Firefighters extinguished the fire within 15 minutes of the initial arrivals of first responders. The fire destroyed the box truck, leaving only the unidentified passenger compartment. The situation could have been worse if passengers had not managed to escape. The fire quickly reduced the cab’s size to nothing.

According to Fox 9 KMSP, police reported that all the victims survived, but they sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Although the investigation into the accident remains open, the station reports that the driver of the passenger car is being investigated for impaired driving. The report states that the driver displayed signs of impairment. High speeds mean that there is little time for reaction, and things can quickly go wrong on the highway. Although the crash between the truck and passenger car had every chance to be worse, everyone was able walk away with minor injuries.
