Do not do it unless your heart is set on taking the plunge.

Electric Cars are a great choice for their environmental friendliness and low maintenance requirements. These claims don’t seem to convince the majority of people. Partly this is because some EVs can be polarizing. Additionally, while owning an electric vehicle may be a cost-saving move in the long run, many car buyers find the upfront price prohibitive.

If people had the opportunity to test drive an electric vehicle, they might be more interested in them. Many EVs are renowned for their quiet operation, instant torque, and futuristic tech features. The Tesla Model S has been a leader in the electric car segment, proving that they can be fast, fun to drive, as well as stunning to look at. It’s smaller brother, the Tesla Model 3, has more impact than its sibling.

Micah Muzio reviews and drives many cars as part his Kelley Blue Book job. He also reviews personal vehicles on his own, but this is not connected to his work at KBB. He is a veteran automotive expert, but he is not an EV advocate. He can’t help but to share the addictive qualities of the Tesla Model S Speed and its Ludicrous acceleration.

Why is Tesla Model S so addictive?

Kelley Blue Book is my day job, so I get to drive and review many cars. Today, I am driving a 2019 Tesla Model S. It is the P100D. Recently renamed to the Tesla Model S Performance. The Performance sits above the Long Range Model S in Tesla’s lineup and is an electric car blast.

To be truthful, I may have gone a little too far with the full-throttle acceleration. I don’t blame you. Model S Performance can go from zero to 60 mph in just 3 seconds. Tesla claims that the time to go from 0-60 is 2.4 seconds with the Ludicrous Mode. This is insane, but Ludicrous Plus Mode takes it even further. Ludicrous Plus Mode improves acceleration by warming the battery thoroughly. It was a safe experience that I did with my daughter.

All that talk about addictive acceleration aside, I can assure you that I drove the 2019 Model S like an intelligent person and carefully inspected the interior. The Tesla Standard Performance Model S was also abandoned the day I uploaded this video. The update that I have included in the video needs to be updated. We are sorry about this.

To be clear, the premise of this review isn’t comprehensive. It is a quick look at the 2019 Tesla Model S while I continue living my normal life. Simple. Fun!
