What should the premium sedan of DS look like?
PSA’s DS branding aims at elevating the Peugeot-Citroen group into premium territory. The brand’s next addition could well be a stylish sedan with the DS 8 moniker. This rendering shows what the flashy four door might look like when it joins the existing lineup, which includes the DS 3 hatchback DS 3 Crossback crossover and the larger DS 7 Crossback.
Our artist used the DS3 Crossback to create this rendering. The four-door’s front features a large hexagonal grille. The unusual shape of the headlights is that they have sharp edges in the middle, but smoother at the corners. The LED light strips run down to the front fascia. The hood is contoured with raised creases along the edges. These creases flow into the A-pillars. Although the render shows only one side of the model, it depicts a smooth arching roof transitioning to a similar-shaped rear deck.
The DS 8 seems to be a perfect fit for the hybrid powertrain of the DS 7 Crossback. The crossover features a 1.6-liter turbocharged four cylinder that produces 197 horsepower and two electrical motors to produce a total system output 296 horsepower (221 Kilowatts) & 332 pound-feet (332 Newton-meters). The hybrid electric setup will provide the luxury vehicle buyer with the combination of power and smoothness they desire.
DS plans to grow significantly in the future through a product program that would add a model each year until 2025. A four-door, range-topping sedan such as the DS 8 is rumored to be among them. However, there aren’t any details about when it might be available.
