Living spaces are modernized with extra storage and features.
New EarthCruiser models will see major changes. This well-known manufacturer of offroad expedition cars has introduced new EXP models and FX models. They feature 6.0-liter V8 engine powertrains, Allison transmissions and in-house-designed running gear. The interiors have been updated with more space and functionality.
EarthCruiser founder Lance Gillies stated that “we have made significant changes to Fuso FE’s gasoline platform and put it through rigorous tests to ensure we have a product that is safe, capable, and reliable.” We decided to spec our own drivetrain in order to have full control over final drive ratios and transfer case reduction gears, tire and wheel compatibility, locking differentials and braking systems.
The new EarthCruisers will be using a GM-sourced Vortec V8 that produces 297 horsepower (221 kilowatts), and 361 pound-feet (489 Newton meters) of torque. The engine connects to an Allison 1000 transmission, which routes power to the new EarthCruiser four-wheel drive system. The new models are capable of zipping down paved roads with two-wheel drive.
Dyna Trac offers full floating axles with universal lengths for front and rear. At the corners, 37-inch Toyo tires can be mounted. A new roof design further improves performance by reducing weight by 150 pounds and lowering the vehicle’s center of gravity.
Fuso-based expedition cars also get a lot of upgrades to their living areas. The living area has more storage space and an external slide-out kitchen for outdoor cooking. The bathroom’s entryway has been redesigned to provide more privacy and ergonomics. A grey water recycling system, which uses three carbon filters, a UV filter and its own hot-water tank, is now more efficient. The EXP/FX can take extended off-grid vacations with a combined 84 gallons and 720 Amp hours worth of fresh water storage. Dual-cab trucks can sleep up to five people or four.
EarthCruiser has announced that the 2020 EXP/FX models are available for purchase starting at $350,000
