Electric Ford Mustang GTE Fan video depicts a shocking future pony

This Mustang EV rendering is unlike anything else we have seen.

We saw Ford unveiled a powerful 900-horsepower all electric Mustang at 2019 SEMA show. Now we are on the verge of seeing their new Mustang-inspired hybrid crossover. Cover will be up in a few weeks. Adan Lopez, a highly skilled designer, created the GTE, an electrified Mustang.

Lopez generously shared his complete renderings of the car. There’s also a The Adan Channel video that shows the car in action. This design is clearly influenced by the current generation. The headlights and sloping roof are reminiscent of the Mustang’s modern grille. The low hood is indicative of the absence of a powerful V8 and the idea of the fascia’s top forming a spoiler at the front is quite interesting. Although the flared fender arches may seem unorthodox, they work well with the rest. Only the Mustang’s famous three-bar taillights are missing at the rear.

There’s a similar theme of familiar-yet-different inside. Although the steering wheel and instrument cluster can be identified as a Mustang, almost all vehicle functions have been reduced to touch screens. We use almost because the window switches can be seen on the doors and the headlight controls can be found to the left of the steering wheel. A rotary dial located in the center console allows you to select forward, neutral, or park. You don’t have to be sad about the absence of a manual. There’s an M button on the dial, and you can see the paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

No V8? No problem:

We like this flight of fancy. And we don’t just mean that we love it because we love to see Mustang enthusiasts get excited about an electric-powered pony car. Some readers may not know that your humble author has owned several Mustangs over the years. is a 1995 GT Convertible currently in the garage. The future is electric, and it doesn’t have to boring. This design combines Mustang cues and a satisfying mixture of curves and edges. It even allows the driver to participate with paddle shifters. This Mustang is the future.
