Elton John's Aston Martin V8 Vantage up for sale

Silverstone Auctions will auction a rare 1997 V550 that rock legend ordered new on February 24, 2017.

Silverstone Auctions Race Retro Classic Car Sale will be selling one of the most sought-after Aston Martins from the past century. It will go under the hammer on February 24th and 25. This 1997 V8 Vantage V550 V550 was once owned by Sir Elton John, making it even more rare.

The V8 Vantage, a hand-built vehicle, was purchased new from Newport Pagnell in 1997. It is expected to fetch more than PS250,000 (equivalent of about $347,000. Although it may seem like a huge Sacrifice in order to pay that much Nikita this is Rocket Man. You could say goodbye to the Yellow Brick Road, but also the rear tires that produce all 550 horsepower (410 Kilowatts). It was also made in England. That’s enough puns. But what about the car?

The V8 Vantage is outfitted with dense black paint and a black leather interior. It can accelerate from a standstill at 60 mph to 98 kilometres per hour in 4.8 seconds. This is a remarkable feat for a car with this much weight. The car is said to still have that unique new-car smell and has logged less than 9,000 miles (14,584 kilometers) on its odometer.

The estimated values range from PS190,000 to PS240,000 ($264,000 – $333,600), but the final auction price will likely be much higher.

Silverstone Auctions’ classic car specialist Adam Rutter said that Sir Elton is a worldwide superstar. It is therefore a pleasure to sell this Aston Martin he bought new in 1997. This stunning V8 Vantage, which has only 8,663 miles on it, has enjoyed celebrity ownership. This is equivalent to driving only 400 miles per year.

There were only 240 standard V550s ever produced, making it a rare collector’s item. The exterior of this example is in excellent condition with the flared wheelarches and deep front spoiler remaining intact. Rikki Cann, a respected marque specialist, has spent a lot of money on chassis #70174. This means that it is in A1 condition. You will also find the original invoices and service books.

Entering Christmas is no longer relevant. Instead, go into the cabin to perform some Circles of Life. Except at the gas station, you wouldn’t Still Be Standing. Sorry…

Adam said, “Our Race Retro auction offers a rare opportunity for one of the very last coach-built Aston Martins.” You can’t go wrong with the fact that it was purchased new by Sir Elton John. This car is truly unique.
