Get zero-percent financing or 20 percent off MSRP.
Let’s all give a shout out to the Buick Grand Regal. The sedan was surprisingly good for a branch of GM that was becoming soft over the years. It was even more impressive in tourXwagon trim. The Regal languished on dealer lots until 2020 , when the automaker decided to end the Regal’s existence. Buick is not to blame for this decision. We sold less than 9,000 Regals in the first three quarters 2019 but aggressive incentives could have helped the TourX sell with a bang.
GMAuthority reported the new discount which is a full 20% off MSRP for TourX models until December. There is also a financing promotion at zero percent for 72-months with a $2,500 discount. Both deals require buyers who finance through GM Financial. Naturally, the fine print states that the offer is limited to qualified buyers. The discount can be as high as $8,000. Depending on the way you dress up your TourX.
The incentive is not available for other models than the TourX if you are thinking of getting rid of the long-roof Regal and getting a deal on a sporty GS sedan, or five-door Sportback. The fact that all Regal models have been canceled in the U.S. is a mystery. The Regal will be continued in China – a strange trend among GM sedans, as the cancelled in-America Cadillac CT6 won’t last in China. In Europe, the Regal’s bones will continue to live as the Insignia. It can be worn with either an Opel badge or Vauxhall badge.
The United States will see Buick eliminate the Regal by the 2020 model year. We wouldn’t be surprised to find new incentives for the whole Regal line, given the Regal’s low sales numbers in 2019.
