We’re excited to offer a virtual tour of some of the most accurate scale models, as we celebrate the inaugural race in the 2022 Formula 1 Season. The 1:4 scale builds are for F1 fans who want it all. Those might seem out of reach so it’s understandable that they may not be affordable. However, other race cars can be built on smaller scales, such as 1:12 and 1:18.

We were most interested in the Mercedes-AMG F1 W11, which was from the 2020 season. It was the car that participated in the Portuguese Grand Prix. This model, which is quarter the size of the real thing, measures over 49 inches (125 cm) in length.

Each model is more than 450 hours in construction and can be purchased as Lewis Hamilton’s car or with George Russell or Valtteri Bottas as the driver. Amalgam claims that the 1:4 scale model W11 is in development. It is being faithfully reproduced with original CAD designs, paint codes and other information provided by Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team.

Seven of them are built with Lewis Hamilton’s #44 and five more for official Bottas or Russel editions. It took over 4,500 hours for it to be developed, so it’s not surprising that it will cost you $35,039.

The Ferrari SF1000 is a special livery that celebrates 1,000 races in F1 and the Prancing Horse. It will be at the 2020 Tuscany Grand Prix with Sebastian Vettel’s #5 and Charles Leclerc’s #16. It measures more than 28 inches (71 cm) in length.

It is priced at “only” $9809 and can be made in 50 pieces. To accurately replicate the scale model, this one was also made with original CAD drawings and paint codes provided by Scuderia Ferrari. Each one took 250 hours to build and was built by hand. It is undoubtedly one of the most stunning F1 car liveries in modern times.

A 1:12 replica of F1 car nose cones is available if a whole car is too expensive. This replica is a copy of the BMW Sauber F1.07’s front styling from 2007. This car will cost you only $211, and it echoes the original Formula 1 car completely designed by BMW. Amalgam collaborated with BMW to scan the original car digitally.

The BMW Sauber F1.07 measures approximately 15 inches (38 cm) in length, just like the 1:12 scale models. Amalgam also offers nose cones similar to the Red Bull Toro Rosso STR2 or Spyker F8VII, both from the same year. The McLaren MP4-30 race car, driven by Fernando Alonso in 2015. Also available is the nose cone. The McLaren MCL35M’s nose cone for older cars is also available.

The iconic McLaren M4/4, which costs $911, is a replica of the complete car. Amalgam created a replica car that Ayrton Senna drove home to victory at the 1988 Japanese Grand Prix in order to earn his first Drivers’ Championship title. It measures 10 inches (25 cm) in length and is one of the most successful F1 cars ever. It has won 15 of 16 races.

Amalgam also offers 1:18 scale models for F1 cars from recent seasons, including the McLaren MCL35M and Ferrari SF21 from the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix. The catalog also includes Sebastian Vettel’s SF71H, SF90 and Lewis Hamilton’s Monaco Grand Prix-winning cars from 2019.

Amalgam currently has the 1:1 scale replica of the Ferrari SF21’s steering wheels for $6,010 as well as the ones from the F2008 and F2007 cars.
