European Customers Finally Have The Ford GT

It’s better to be late than never, right!

In today’s digital age, waiting can be a hassle. We have instant gratification all around us. Therefore, waiting for anything can be stressful and cause anxiety. You can have your groceries delivered to you in 2018. Imagine waiting for a car, and not just any car. After applying for one, you have to wait almost two years to get a Ford GT. Talk about cruel and unusual punishment. 6.500 car lovers from all over the globe applied for one of the 500 Ford GT supercars. Although the car is already on American roads, one lucky European customer has just received keys to one the first GT supercars.

Jason Watt, the lucky customer, is the first to receive a GT in Scandinavia. A racing driver from Denmark, Watt was paralysed from the chest down in 1999 after a motorcycle accident. Watt was also the former owner of a 2005 Ford GT that was modified for hand operation. Watt will have the new GT undergo the same modifications. Jason will be able to transport his wheelchair easily when driving his supercar.

Watts stated that “My Ford GT can park in disabled parking spaces” at the Copenhagen handover.

The stunning Gulf Oil livery is featured on Watt’s Ford GT. The biturbocharged, 3.5-liter V6 engine produces 647 horsepower and 575 pound-feet torque. Power is routed through a seven speed dual-clutch auto transmission. The top speed is 216 mph. Ford has only produced 1,000 GT supercars.

It is hard to believe that Ford GT customers all over the globe are receiving their Ford GT after three years. It’s hard to imagine Watt being happier now that he can drive another GT.
