Audi unveils the 2012 A4/S4 facelift, which is in direct competition with BMW and Mercedes.
Audi has officially revealed the 2012 A4/S4 facelift. The Audi A4’s front fascia has been updated to look more aggressive. It features a revised grille and new headlights. The new diffuser, revised taillights, and dual exhaust system are all included. The S-line package offers a sportier appearance with a lower ride height and 18-inch alloy tires (19-inchers available).
The cabin gets a revised trim, new steering wheel and chrome accents. The updated infotainment system has been upgraded and buttons have been added for the heated/cooled seats.
The Audi A4’s engine options are diverse. The 2.0 TDI produces 136 PS (100 kW / 134 hp), and 163 PS (122 kW / 161 hp). A fourth-cylinder diesel produces 120 PS (88kW/118hp), 143PS (105kW/141hp) as well as 177PS (130kW/174hp). The 3.0 TDI produces 204 PS (150 kW / 201 hp), and 245 PS (1180 kW / 241 hp).
A new 1.8-liter TFSI petrol engine produces 170 PS (125kW/168 hp) as well as 320 Nm (236lb-ft). There are also a 1.8 TFSI that produces 120 PS (88kW/118 hp), and a 2.0 TFSI that produces 211 PS (155kW/208 hp) as well as a 3.0 TFSI V6 which produces 272 PS (200kW/ 268hp).
The Audi S4 boasts a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 that produces 333 PS (245kW / 329 HP) and 440 Nm (324 Lb-ft). It enables the S4 sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.0 seconds, before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). Owners can expect an average of 8.0 L/100 km (29.5 mpg US/35.3 mpg UK) in terms of efficiency.
The Audi A4’s handling features include a new suspension and power steering system that “requires zero energy for straight-ahead movement” which can reduce fuel consumption by as much as 0.3 L/100 km.
The 2012 Audi A4 will soon be available for purchase and the pricing has been “changed only slightly.”
