It’s not a problem if you don’t have big grills.
BMW refreshed the 3 Series family this week. The new face is smoother and the premium compact model gets a big tech boost. The 3 Series does not include a coupe model, as it is now part the 4 Series family. However, they share many components. BMW should launch the 4 Series Coupe in the near future. A new rendering shows the design possibilities for this two-door Bimmer.
Although there is little evidence that the 4 Series Coupe facelift will remove the massive kidney grilles at its front, X-Tomi Design proposes a radical redesign to the premium coupe. This vehicle has the same front fascia design as the 3 Series family’s refreshed model ( see related links below). We believe that many BMW enthusiasts would love such a change. The front end of the previous generation 4 Series, both in coupe and convertible form, was shared with the 3 Series.
We like the more subtle design language of this car than the more aggressive look of the current 4 Series. Although the car isn’t as aggressive with its smaller grilles, it doesn’t lack aggression. It’s okay to be a little friendlier, right?
The 4 Series will be kept on par with the 3 Series in tech, so the 4 Series facelift will receive the iDrive8 infotainment system. The facelifted 3er has 12.3 inches of digital real-estate for the driver, and a 14.9 inch screen in the middle of the dashboard that provides infotainment functions.
The two screens are covered by a single, large glass piece. OS8 now runs on the hardware. It has a new menu structure with a smartphone-style look. The 4 Series will continue to be powered by the same powertrains as before.
