This week’s feel-good story.
The Chevrolet Corvette has always been a special car. The C8 is a classic sports car that has been admired since its inception and continues to be a popular choice. While many ‘Vette enthusiasts will need to wait for the long-awaited C8, one enthusiast was able to see the 2020 model first.
Larry Webb has been a Corvette enthusiast his whole life and was one of the first to see the C8 Corvette in person outside of Chevrolet. His son explained that Larry was diagnosed with aggressive bile duct carcinoma on his 70th birthday. The post states that Larry’s time is limited after he failed chemotherapy.
Webb’s son, knowing Larry’s passion for the Corvette, reached out to GM. Larry was granted a private viewing at Midway Chevrolet in the local area, just days before the official debut of the Corvette to the public. To Larry’s delight, all of this happened.
His son notes that “this was a complete surprise to my father.” He knew he was going to go out on Friday, but didn’t know where or for what. It was amazing that I invited all his friends to the event. He was presented with a lot of Corvette swag as well as a cool coin. This coin was given out to those who attended the unveiling of Corvette C8. He enjoyed seeing his friends and taking a tour of C8.
Larry was unable to experience the C8 Corvette in action as it was an early prototype. He did however spend some time with Corvette engineers and product specialists, and was shown the amazing details of the new C8. He also received lots of Corvette swag, including a limited edition commemorative coin.
