Ferrari’s 458 Speciale has been introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The 458 Speciale is designed to appeal to drivers looking for a sports car with extreme driving emotions. It is lighter and more powerful that the 458 Italia.
The 458 Speciale’s 4.5-liter V8 engine produces 605 HP (445kW) and 540 Nm (398lb-ft). This is an increase of 35 HP (25kW). The engine is linked to a dual-clutch transmission, which promises an “even sharper sense of urgency during acceleration.” The supercar, which weighs 1290 kg (2844lb), can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds and lap Fiorano in 1 minute and 23.5 seconds.
The car is equipped with the Side Slip Angle Control system, which uses a complex algorithm to calculate the car’s side slip angle. The system compares the angle with reference data to provide smooth, controllable power-oversteer. This is achieved by optimizing torque management via F1 Trac traction control, and the E-Diff electronic diff.
The 458 Speciale comes with all the standard refinements, including an aerodynamic bodykit, Brembo brakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tire.
