The 458 European model with the folding hard-top roof is expected to sell for EUR226,800. Sales will begin next month.
The 458 Spider in the United States will retail at $257,000, and go on sale January 2012.

The aluminum folding hard-top roof of the 458 Spider is made by Webasto AG in Germany. It also serves as the roof for the California cabriolet. It is one of few rear-engine cars with a retractable hard-top roof that can be folded up or down in just 14 seconds.
The same 4.5-liter V8 engine that powers the 458 Spider from the 458 Italia coupe produces 570 PS (425kW / 563bhp) as well as 540 Nm (398 lbft).
