Ferrari 488 GT Modificata Is a 700-HP Supercar Track-Focused

This is not something you will see on the streets.

Ferrari’s road cars are a big draw for the supercar manufacturer, but the company is still focusing on motorsports. Today, Ferrari revealed the Ferrari 488 GT Modificata. This is another dedicated race car. However, it falls somewhere between the 488 GTTE, and the 488 GT3, which combines the best of both. Ferrari describes it as a “perfect synthesis” of the two.

Ferrari did not just take parts from a shelf to make a new model. The engine was significantly modified by the company, which is now exempt from the FIA Balance of Performance regulations. It now produces 700 horsepower (521 kilowatts). This is more power than Ferrari’s GT3 and GTE. A carbon-fiber clutch will handle the power and a different gearbox will allow you to choose from different ratios.

Ferrari also made improvements to the aerodynamics of the car to increase downforce at its front. This was done by shifting the pressure center forward and decreasing the overall drag. At 230 km/h (142 miles per an hour), the car has over 1,000 kg (2,2 lb) of downforce. The GTE’s suspension is hidden beneath the carbon-fiber bodywork. It has an aluminum roof with uprights. Brembo developed a partnership system that brakes the vehicle. It pairs with the ABS system of the 488 GT3EVO, which is tuned for the GT Modificata.

The race car has data acquisition systems such as V-Box or Brembo’s. For easy transfer, data can be downloaded to a USB stick. Other standard features include a high resolution rear-view camera, second seat, and a tire monitoring system that monitors temperature and pressure. For those who want to make a statement in the paddock, full personalization is available. The Ferrari 488 GT Modificata, like all Ferrari races, will be limited in production and available only to drivers who have recently competed in the Ferrari Competizioni GT series.
