Ferrari 599 GTZ Nibbio Spyder Zgato Extremely Rare - Up for AuctionIt is one of six examples built by Zagato, a noted coachbuilder.

Ferrari, Zagato don’t often associate with each other. This well-known coachbuilder has a long history in design, with Aston Martin being perhaps the most famous. This Ferrari 599 GTZ Nibbio Spyder is a rare example. However, it has a pure Prancing Horse underneath. You can purchase it through RM Sotheby’s auction in Paris in February.

According to the auction listing the car was originally a 2009 Ferrari 599 GTB and spent most of its life there. It was originally sold in Switzerland, and had accumulated 12,490 mile before Zagato arrived. Although it is a 2009 model, the conversion was actually quite recent. It went to Zagato for its custom body in January 2020 and has covered only 497 miles since then. Six Nibbio Spyders were produced, each one a different color. This means that you won’t find another car like it anywhere else in the world.

The GTZ Nibbio Spyder is softer than the 599. It features a more organic, softened shape with a large grille at the front. Parallel arches run backwards from the seats to pay homage the double-bubble roof on hardtop conversions. It’s impossible not to mention the car’s amazing taillights. Be careful, as they can be very costly to replace.

The car itself is also very expensive. Although the 599 GTB was only $300,000. new, this Ferrari will likely command a lot more when it crosses the auction block with RM Sotheby’s. In 2018, we saw the h ardtop version for sale at $1.5million. However, it was also one of only a few such conversions to have a manual transmission. A seven-figure price tag is possible, even though there are only six GTZ Nibbio Spyders in production.
