Aerodynamics, 750 HP and Ferrari 599XX

Evolution is the name given to a car model in sports car racing. Ferrari has taken the Ferrari 599XX to the next level with the 599XX Evolution.

The term “Evolution” is used in sports car racing to refer to the most advanced or extreme version of a car model. Ferrari’s Ferrari 599XX is already a hardcore version street-going 599 GTB. But Ferrari has added the 599XX Evolution to make it even more exciting.

First revealed by spy photographers . The non-homologated sports carberlinetta has an active aerodynamics package that includes an active rear wings and front splitter. Two flaps on the rear wings can be electronically opened and closed to adjust the downforce on the rear axle, as determined by certain parameters. These parameters are the steering wheel angle and longitudinal acceleration as well as vehicle speed. They can be determined by other electronic control functions such F1-Trac, ABS, SCM, and ESP. Combining the new rear diffuser with new Pirelli tires, the total downforce at 200 km/h is boosted up to 330kg (serial: 281 kg) when the flaps open and 440kg when they are closed.

The 599XX Evo’s power output is 20 PS higher at 750 PS (740 horsepower / 552kW) and 700 Nm (516lb-ft). Simply redirect the exhaust pipes from the sides to achieve this effect. The 599XX Evo is 35 kg lighter (77 lbs) and has a lower final gear ratio, which allows for quicker acceleration on medium-to-high-speed tracks.

Ferrari Corse Clienti (race clientele) are the only ones who can purchase the 599XX Evo.
