This modus operandi appears to extend to Ferrari’s most loyal buyers, those chosen by Maranello to purchase the limited-run cars. Although those who were selected to receive the hotter 812 are on the shortlist have not yet seen it, this message from Ferrari to potential customers announces that the official premiere will be taking place. The clip was shot at Enzo Ferrari’s office near Fiorano track. It has been uploaded to Instagram (via Ferrari chat). It was probably sent to potential customers on February 18, when Enzo was born. Side note: Although multiple sources claim that Enzo was born February 20, his father claimed that it took him two more days to register his son’s arrival due to a snowstorm. Rumours suggest that the 812 Versione Speciale could be released as soon as next week. Some Ferrari Chat members claim the world premiere will take place on Monday, February 22. Although 812 VS is not likely to be the final name of the game, it does not necessarily mean that the GTO moniker will be revived, as some reports claim. A convertible version of the 812 GTS will follow the coupe. The open-top Ferrari will be remembered as the last front-engined Ferrari with naturally aspirated V12 engines. But that remains to happen. The video message promises a “breakthrough” in development for those who are privileged to receive it, but no specific details have been revealed at this time. The 812VS will likely be shown in coupe form first, and the convertible version later in the year.
