Sergio Marchionne, chairman of Chrysler and CEO of Chrysler, said that Ferrari chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo was speechless after taking a close look at 2013 SRT Viper.
“I had Ferrari’s chairman down here last week for the board meeting and he had a chance look at the car. He was absolutely speechless.” It’s a great compliment to all the hard work done here for Ferrari to say that the car is unique. So I’m delighted. We’re doing great so far, I think.
Marchionne didn’t mention di Montezemolo’s specific name. He only mentioned the person’s title and his reference to “speechless” ca.
Fiat owns both Chrysler and Ferrari. The new second generation Viper was unveiled at the New York Auto Show last month under the performance-oriented Chrysler brand SRT. The Viper’s 8.4-liter V10 aluminum engine produces 640 horsepower (477 kW/649 PS) and 600lb-ft (814Nm) of torque.
Later in the year, production will begin at Chrysler’s Connor Avenue assembly facility in Detroit.
