Publicity has spotted the third member of Icona’s exclusive stable.
The Daytona SP3 was revealed by Ferrari in November 2021. It caught the eye of the world because of its retro-inspired styling. It joins the MonzaSP1 and SP2 in the Icona range.
Daytona SP3 is a modern interpretation of classic Ferrari designs. It draws inspiration from the 330 P3/4, 350 Can-Am and 512 S as well as other Ferrari race cars. The automaker did not provide details about the limited production or pricing nor its delivery schedule. We know that many, if not all of them, have been purchased.
YouTube’s Varryx has spotted a prototype Daytona SP3 car. Although it was only a short interaction, we were able to see the supercar on public roads.
The prototype was spotted wearing camo over the unveiled body. Are there any modifications to the prototype before it goes into production? Although we don’t know the answer, the Daytona SP3 looks amazing, even with its obscured design elements. This car is said to be Ferrari’s most aerodynamically-efficient model.
The 6.5-liter V12 inside the Daytona SP3 is even more remarkable. It was taken from the 812 Competizione, and redesigned for this model. Ferrari made several changes to the engine, including reducing its weight and inertia using titanium connecting rods and new piston pins with a Diamond Like Carbon treatment.
The F140HC now produces 828 horsepower (617 Kilowatts) and 514 pounds-feet (697 Newton meters) of torque. This makes it the most powerful Ferrari engine ever made. It can reach speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) at 9,500 rpm in just 2.86 seconds.
