Racing driver life is hard.
The third season of Formula 1 is out. This weekend the 2021 Formula 1 season starts. All is well in motorsports. After a messy divorce between Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel last year Carlos Sainz moved to the Scuderia. He had previously been a very successful McLaren driver. Charles Leclerc and Sainz had the chance to ride two Ferrari SF90s around the Imola circuit before a real duel in F1 machinery.
An SF90 Stradale Assetto Fiorano as well as the SF90 Spyder make up this pair of hypercars. Each vehicle brought a smile to the faces of both world-class drivers, despite their differences. It’s not surprising that Sainz & Leclerc were so excited behind the wheel of the 986 horsepower (735 Kilowatts), twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V8 engines.
The Italian automaker is known for producing its finest road vehicles when F1 is struggling. The old saying is not completely true, especially considering the Scuderia’s performance in 2020. However, the new driver lineup hopes to get the team back at the top of the grid.
F1 legend aside, the SF90’s design elements look great and provide downforce to hold the vehicle to the asphalt. Fabio Manzoni, Chief Design Officer described his design philosophy as combining engineering and innovation with stunning beauty. Although it doesn’t produce the same downforce as an F1 racer the SF90 is a pioneer in road-legal vehicles.
We are eager to see where Scuderia Ferrari ranks in the rankings with the 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix on the horizon. We hope it is a better season than last year’s.
