Ferrari F8 Tributo Drag Races McLaren 720S in Supercar Battle

Only one winner can exist.

The Ferrari F8 Tributo spec sheets and the McLaren spec sheets will show you that it’s hard to predict which car would win a race. They both have engines producing 710 horsepower (529kilowatts) and similar curb weights. These similarities are displayed at the airstrip, in a new YouTube video by 888MF that features the supercars racing each other in drag races. This is not the first battle between the two.

The 720S’ twin-turbocharged 4.0 liter V8 produces 567 pound-feet (707 Newton-meters) of torque. This is the same as Ferrari’s twin turbo 3.9-liter V8. Both transmit power to the rear wheels via seven-speed gearboxes. Their top speeds are almost identical – McLaren’s 212 mph (341.18 km/h) and Ferrari’s 211.3mph (340 km/h). The biggest difference between the two is their prices. The 2020 F8 costs 205,000 dollars ($265,000) while the 2017 McLaren cost 140,000 dollars ($181,000).

The supercars launch control systems are engaged in both races, giving them the best launch possible. The start of the first race was equal. Both cars were neck-and-neck, but McLaren gradually pulled away and crossed the finish line first. The second race is the same, but the Ferrari finishes first. The McLaren narrows the gap and passes the Ferrari, crossing the finish line in first place. The 720S supercar is a fierce competitor.

Telemetry data from F8 showed that the channel had the fastest zero-to-60 time (100 kph) of 2.99 seconds. It took 5.995 seconds for F8 to reach 100 mph (160 km/h). The Tributo finished the quarter-mile race at 137.9 MPH (221.9 Kph) in 10.69 seconds. McLaren 720S was 60 seconds slower than Ferrari, with 3.07 seconds. The 720S was able to hit 100 mph in 5.7 seconds. The quarter-mile at 142.9 MPH (229.9 KPH) was completed in 10.55 seconds. Woking easily won another victory over the supercar makers Maranello.
