Ferrari One-Off To Make A Rare Public Appearance

Rarely is the one-off 166MM/212 Export “Uovo” seen.

At Hampton Court Palace, the U.K., a selection of the most rare Ferraris will be gathered at the Concours of Elegance at the end of next week. The collection will be led by a very special car.

Rarely seen by the general public, the 166MM/ 212 Export “Uovo” is a rare car. One example exists. It was built for Giannino Marzotto as the ultimate sports car. Franco Reggiani was the car’s aeronautical trainer and it weighed in at almost 150 kg (331 pounds) less than other Ferraris of its day.

The Uovo was not a garage queen, despite its one-off commission. It won a lot of races, including the 1951 Giro della Toscana.

It was recently sold by RM Sotheby’s. The Concours of Elegance will offer one of the few chances to see it in person.

Andrew Evans, Concours of Elegance Director said that the Concours of Elegance was all about bringing together some of the most rare and exceptional cars in the world. While Ferrari and its long history of icons will be a part of the Concours, I am absolutely delighted by the quality of the cars we’ll display.

A 1962 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Scaglietti is also on display at Concours. It’s one of 165 made. Also, a rare alloy-bodied Ferrari 275GTB Long Nose Ferrari 275GTB. One of the 357 original L-Series a Dino 246 GTs.
