The not-SUV still wears the Levante body, with some modifications.
Ferrari has not announced the Purosangue for 2018. The not-an-SUV four-door practical four-door has been seen several times over the course of its development. It was first spotted under the GTC4Lusso skin. This was allegedly to test its powertrain.
Recently, the Purosangue was caught in a Maserati Levante but with necessary tweaks. The latest spy video by Varryx shows the Purosangue casually walking on public roads.
Notable: The Purosangue test mule here is the same one that we saw in June. It now has normal-sized exhaust tips.
This spy video was much shorter than the one that was captured at Fiorano. Based on Ferrari’s initial announcement, however, we know some things about the Purosangue.
The Purosangue, despite wearing a Levante skin will be a completely different vehicle and will ride on a new platform. The test mule’s added fender flares suggest that the Ferrari high-rider Ferrari will have wider tracks, and the quad exhaust pipes indicate that Ferrari is not compromising on its GTC4Lusso replacement.
Ferrari stated that the Purosangue would have multiple powertrains. Although it could be available in V6 or V8 versions, we expect a V12 model with electric motors.
Despite this, the Purosangue will likely compete against the Lamborghini Urus or Aston Martin DBX. The 12-pot flavor would also be comparable to the Bentley Bentayga Speed with its W12 motor.
It’s still testing a test mule so don’t be surprised if Ferrari doesn’t reveal the Purosangue. It is possible that the Italian marque will continue to follow its original schedule and it will arrive globally in 2022. Then, it will be available in the USA for the model year 2023.
