Ferrari has redesigned the interior with a high console, which separates the passenger and driver.
The Ferrari Roma is a two-seat coupe named after Italian cities such as Modena, Maranello, and Portofino. According to the company, the vehicle’s minimalist, swoopy design is a tribute to the city’s vibrant past in the 1950s and 1960s. The smooth design also looks like it borrows elements from earlier models such as the 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso or 250 GT 2+2 (check out the images below).
In this application, the Roma uses a version Ferrari’s twin-turbo V8 of 3.9-liters that produces 612 horsepower (or 620 metric horses) and 561 pound feet (561 Newton-meters). The engine’s peak power is at 7,500 rpm and it runs through an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
According to Ferrari, the Roma can travel at 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds. It also hits 124 mph in 9.3 seconds. According to Ferrari’s specs, the top speed is greater than 199 mph (320 km/h).
The Roma’s design is retro inspired, especially the visual similarity with the Daytona. However, Ferrari’s designers kept it modern with features such as LED adaptive headlights that have an illuminated strip running through them and flush-mounted handles on the doors. The rear features large glass that appears to let in lots of light and provide a great view outwards.
Ferrari’s interior designers have used a unique (for Ferrari) high-center console to separate the driver and passenger. The driver is able to see a large digital instrument cluster and a portrait-layout informationtainment screen. A separate screen is available for the passenger to view.
