The twin-turbocharged V8 is loud, too.
This video is extremely short and shows the rear of the coupe before moving to the digital instrument cluster. As the Roma’s eight speed dual-clutch gearbox snaps to shifts, the red tachometer jumps up the rev range. The Ferrari’s twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 produces 612 horsepower (456 Kilowatts) as well as 561 pound-feet (761 Newton-meters) of torque.
Ferrari claims that the Roma smashed past 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.3 seconds, with 124 mph (220 kph), taking 9.3 second. Some crude counting shows that the Roma can reach speeds of 124 mph in 8.5 seconds. This is better than Ferrari’s claims. Although the top speed of the supercar is greater than 199 mph (320 km/h), we don’t see it in the video.
The Roma was a sleek, minimalistic design that paid homage to classic Ferraris such as the 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso or the 250 GT 2+2. The retro-inspired design has many modern-day high tech features, including adaptive LED headlights and flush-mounted door handles. A high-centered console in the interior separates the passenger and driver, which is atypical for Ferrari.
Although the Roma is beautiful and has a lot of power under the hood, it isn’t as demanding as some other Ferrari models. Ferrari stated that 2020 would be a slower year to produce new models. The automaker said it would concentrate on selling the latest models and informing clients and dealers about its offerings in new segments. One of these is the potent Roma.
