One of very few brands that doesn’t have an SUV yet.
Ferrari may be a little late in reporting its 2021 Sales on February 2, but the supercar maker from Italy has plenty to celebrate. It saw double-digit growth in sales and deliveries, but it also set its highest ever year of global sales and delivery.
Last year’s total of 11,155 cars was shipped to customers all over the globe, beating 2020 by 22.3 per cent. It was also 10.1% better than 2019 which saw the first year Ferrari had shipped more than 10,000 cars (1,131 sales). The 2021 sales and financial reports confirm that 2021 was the marque’s highest-ever annual sales year. This is a record Ferrari would like to surpass again in 2019.
Benedetto Vigna, Ferrari CEO, commented that “our record 2021 financial results once again demonstrate the strength of our company model.” We carefully managed an impressive order intake, in accordance with our strategy to maintain brand exclusivity and control growth. We achieved double-digit growth in all financial indicators, exceeding our expectations.
With 5,492 deliveries in total, Europe, the Middle East and Africa remained Ferrari’s largest region last year, which was a 14 percent increase on 2020. Americas was second, with 2,831 Ferraris being sold, which is 22 percent more than in the previous year. While demand for supercars rose by 97 percent to 899 units in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, it remains the least important market in terms of volume.
The Ferrari 2021 sales report shows that V8-powered Ferrari models saw a 34.6 percent increase in demand while V12 supercars experienced a 16.1 percent drop. Ferrari claims that this is due to the lower volume of the 812 Superfast which was discontinued during the calendar year.
