This weight loss is 265 pounds.
The Ferrari Testarossa, an iconic 1980s automobile, is easily identifiable by its pop-up headlights and cheese-grater sidestrakes. Modern technology is still far more advanced than ever, and the Swiss company Officine Fioravanti is currently building a restomod model that will improve the model’s performance.
The company has not yet provided any details. The company plans to reach a top speed at 200 mph (322 km/h), which is compared to the original’s 180 mph (290 km/h), according Autocar. This will likely mean that the factory’s 385 horsepower (287kilowatts), or 422 hp (315kW) from the earlier 512 TR, will be increased. Other tweaks include traction control and anti-lock brakes.
Officine Fioravanti will also be slicing off 265 lbs (120 kg) from the Testarossa. This should bring it down to approximately 3,500 pounds (1.588 kilograms).
A suspension system with Ohlins electronic dampers, and adjustable anti-roll bars are some other changes. Brembo racing-spec brakes are included.
The exterior of the Testarossa is being left largely unaltered by the company. This makes sense as the body is so important to this vehicle. There are some minor changes to the interior. Officine Fioravanti covers the cabin with Italian leather. Aluminum is used to replace the original plastic parts.
The photos also show an 1980s-era carphone inside the vehicle. This is a nice touch. It would be great if Officine Fifavanti could make this device work again.
Officine Fioravanti informs Autocar about a full debut “in due course.” When the current Testarossa Restomod is completed, it seems that the company will build more.
